Our kitty was gone when we got home from my inlaws on Monday......since it had stormed I assumed he got spooked and ran and hid somewhere.....he didn't return that evening either. We live somewhat rural, but still not that rural.....
At 4:00 A.M. this morning, I stood on my back patio and cried as the reality hit that something has perhaps happened to my Mickey. I begged God to bring him home, I don't want another cat, it is hard to think of that when we had the best cat ever in Mick.
Mickey was so happy with his life. He has been our precious kitty since last July. He just had his one year birthday. He loves his life wandering in and out of our home as he pleases. Some days he chooses to nap on my bed, some days he chooses to nap in the kids tree house. He is always close by and a faithful companion. He follows my husband around better than the dog....and listens better than the kids. He snuggles, and will lick you on the nose or face to give kisses when you pick him up to snuggle him. He loves Barkley, my dauschand, and always is ready to give him a good pounce. He sleeps by him in the sunny spot on our kitchen floor in the mornings....He loved to lay in my sink when I was getting ready or just for an afternoon nap. He is quite a character.....
He wakes me gently after realizing that screaming at me in the early morning was a sure fire way to get tossed out the door! He then began to get really close to my face and give me a whisper "meow" to notify me he is really ready to go out and play! He prefered the outdoors to his cat box, which suited me just fine!
I am filled with sadness and regret for that day we first let him experience the outdoors. He was so happy pouncing around the yard, chasing leaves, and small critters, he never went near the road and always ran when we cranked our cars. He was predictable in his excursions and you could look out any window and see him frollicking nearby.....
I miss my Micky and pray that the guardian angels will do me the hugest favor this time and bring my sweet kitty home. If I am so blessed for that to actually happen then I will not let him outside again....at least I would be afraid to.
